You know, back when C&D wasn't (much of) a joke, they did test a Lotus Omega in England.

One of the few Vauxhalls I would love to own and it isn't even badged as one...

I remember when Csaba Csere was editor at C&D... Those were the days...
That said, I used to prefer R&T, because of Peter Egan's monthly column. I blame Side Glances for my esoteric car taste, at least in part.

Uhh, it is badged as one., if you count the hood emblem on UK cars.

Didn't know that, I only saw one in the wild and it had the Lotus emblem on the hood. The owner must've switched it.

Every Vauxhall I'd happily own either started life as something else - the rebadged Holdens, the VX220 - or, like the Carlton, is at least in part the product of another society.

I miss car and driver being really good. I subscribed to them for nearly a decade in the 90's and early 2000s.

I imagine that's not an uncommon mod, though it may have been a production change for all I know. Of course, the Omegas sold on the Continent had Opel emblems .

Same here, I was at a Vauxhall dealer with a friend today and realised how much I dislike their current range. After going round a few more dealers he decided out of all the newish cars he could afford that he liked the Fiesta the most.
